We think they’re beautiful! Every Mom has a private labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum room, which features: Large private bathroom A sleeper-sofa for Dad or coach Wireless Internet TV/DVD player Mini-fridge Room service Is the Family Birthing Center equipped to handle high-risk deliveries? Yes. Our Center is licensed as a Level II Continuing Care Nursery by the Arizona Department of Health Services and certified by the Arizona Perinatal Trust to care for high-risk newborns and their moms. Will my baby stay with me after delivery? We offer couplet care so you and your baby can stay together in the same room during those first cherished hours. A Respite Nursery is available for your baby. Does the Family Birthing Center offer birthing classes? We offer a full menu of classes to help you and your family get ready for your new family member. Does the Family Birthing Center have parenting resources available? Many Quad City families tap the valuable programs and excellent services available through our Family Resource Center. Can family and friends be with me at the Family Birthing Center? Laboring moms are welcome to have two people with them during a vaginal delivery. If you’re having a C-section, you may have one person with you in the operating suite. Make sure the people you’ve asked to join you are feeling well and have no signs of illness. Are children allowed to visit after the baby’s delivery? Your newborn’s brothers and sisters are welcome to visit. Other children must be 12-years-old to visit. Make sure all children are feeling well and have no signs of illness before visiting you and your baby at the Family Birthing Center. What should I bring for registration? Bring your insurance information and other identification to the hospital. Where do I go when it’s time to deliver at the Family Birthing Center? YRMC’s Health Information Management Department will provide you the information you need to obtain a birth certificate for your newborn.
