Pharmacy Residency

Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited Pharmacy Residency (PGY-1) combines the unique opportunity to train in a rural community hospital with the chance to experience a nationally recognized healthcare provider.

At YRMC, clinical pharmacists are essential members of our healthcare team. A decentralized service model ensures our pharmacists support direct patient care and are involved in all aspects of patients’ pharmacotherapy.

YRMC pharmacists collaborate with physicians, nurses and therapists in clinical areas, including our:

  • Intensive Care Units
  • Adult Medical-Surgical Units
  • Emergency Department
  • Affiliated Outpatient Clinics

YRMC Pharmacy Services maximizes our pharmacists’ involvement in these clinical areas by effectively using technology and by engaging the support of certified pharmacy technicians. This structure allows our pharmacists to focus on preventing, identifying and resolving medication-related problems for YRMC patients.

YRMC Pharmacy Services also is dedicated to the professional development of our staff and is actively involved in training pharmacy students and residents. Our established affiliation with The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy and Midwestern University – Glendale College of Pharmacy demonstrates our long-term commitment to education.
