Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center created Share the Care as a community-wide program to
support breast health and increase access to breast care. Our goal? To educate our community about the
importance of screening mammograms, increase screening, and reduce mortality from breast cancer.
One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. However, there are more
than 3.5 million breast cancer survivors, the largest group of all cancer survivors. Breast cancer mortality can
be reduced an estimated 30-40 percent through screening mammograms.
How can you Share the Care?
Breast cancer mortality rates are higher for U.S. women than for any other cancer, except lung cancer. Ask
your friends to get mammograms and be proactive with your own breast health, too. Utilize our breast health
and screening services while you spread the word about the many valuable services offered by the Baskin
Breast Care Center. Your friends will also be pleased to know that our services are delivered in a pleasant,
comforting environment.
What is Share the Care?
- No-cost screening mammography and support services for financially vulnerable patients who
qualify for assistance through the YRMC Foundation’s Breast Care Fund.
- Breast cancer risk assessments from the Baskin Breast Care Center’s experienced clinical
navigators. Please call (928) 442-8841 to arrange an assessment.
- Community education regarding the importance of annual screening mammography.
How can you Share the Care?
- A variety of community organizations partner with the YRMC Foundation to host fundraisers to
support the Breast Care Fund. Here’s a list of our 2024 planned fundraisers. Often directly impacted
by breast cancer, these community partners are interested in promoting breast health, encouraging
screening mammograms to reduce breast cancer mortality, and assisting financially vulnerable
patients who need breast screening and other services. We are grateful for their enthusiastic
support.
- Our community is fortunate to have many generous individuals who make gifts to support the
Breast Care Fund. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, an
experience many donors have faced personally.
