Preparing for Your Hospital Stay

If you pre-registered online for your hospitalization at YRMC West or YRMC East, please bring the barcode you saved to your phone, photographed or printed. You’ll use this to check in at one of our registration kiosks. A YRMC Admitting Department team member will be available to help if you need assistance with the kiosk.

If you did not pre-register, you can still register when you arrive at YRMC West or YRMC East. Please bring a list of current medications, your medical history, insurance cards, phone numbers for next of kin, as well as, Advance Directives, Living Wills or Power of Attorney forms.

You are welcome to bring your own pajamas or nightgown, robe, slippers and toiletries. Having these things with you may help you feel more comfortable during your stay. You may bring items such as hair dryers or electric shavers, but these items must first be checked by our Engineering Department for safety purposes. Please ask your caregiver to contact the Engineering Department for you.

We ask that you DO NOT BRING VALUABLE ITEMS (jewelry, watches, etc.) to the hospital. The hospital, like many public places, cannot be responsible for the safety of your personal items.
