In keeping with its commitment to provide useful health and wellness information to our community, Yavapai Regional Medical Center has added a cooking show to its website. Your Healthy Kitchen is a series of brief, entertaining videos to help you learn how to prepare delicious, healthy, affordable dishes. The series is hosted by Rita Carey Rubin, a Registered Dietician and Certified Diabetes Educator at YRMC.
Focusing on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and beans, Rita will take you step by step through various recipes while sharing valuable tips along the way. She’ll also invite local guests to share their favorite healthy recipes. In addition, Rita will take you into our community, to farmer’s markets, grocery stores, gardens, kitchens and farms to meet local folks who are growing and preparing fresh, healthy food.
“A diet filled with foods that support good health and help us live a vital, active life, doesn’t have to be bland, boring, or expensive,” Carey Rubin says. “On the contrary, healthy meals can and should be affordable and packed with flavors that leave you feeling truly satisfied. This is what I strive to teach.”
Videos will be updated regularly to the YRMC website, along with downloadable recipes, cost per meal and nutrition information. To find the videos, recipes and more, go to www.yrmchealthconnect.org, and click on Your Healthy Kitchen.
