Search the width and the breadth of the USA and you’d be lucky to find even a handful of hospitals the size of YRMC with a larger – or more dedicated – group of volunteers. Our volunteers, who now number more than 950, collectively donate nearly 100,000 hours of their time, energy and talents each year, working in practically every area of the hospital, making an immeasurable contribution to patient health and comfort, and helping the hospital create its acclaimed Total Healing Environment.
YRMC’s volunteers assist the hospital’s professional caregivers at YRMC West in Prescott, YRMC East in Prescott Valley, at the YRMC Del E. Webb Outpatient Center in Prescott Valley and in outreach programs. They work in most departments in the hospital, ranging from Intensive Care and the Emergency Department, to Patient Services and the Business Office. They also staff our information desks and help in various therapy departments. YRMC Volunteers provide therapeutic Pet Visits, Bedside Music and Clown Visits to enhance our patients’ stays.
